After class on my walk home I began to think about all the companies that I know that use data warehousing. Some examples of this are American Eagle that has the customers rewards card and Cabela's. Recently I had gone on a website to talk to a customer service representative about my rewards account at a specific store. All I had to do is provide my name and she knew exactly what I had bought and a history of all of my previous purchases. I think that this is a great tool for a company to utilize and I see how it could really how a company as far as their marketing to which customer buys what products and services. Amazon.com also uses the concept of data warehousing to display a unique website for the account when you login. How do you guys feel about data warehousing? Like it? Dislike it? or in between?

Career week in the COB

This week was career week as many of you know in the College of business. I attended the career fair on Wednesday afternoon because I'm currently looking for a summer internship. I talked to between 25-30 recruiters from different companies while I was there. Most of them took a resume and some wanted me to look up career openings on their websites. Overall I thought that my afternoon at the career fair was successful. The following day I had an interview with Walgreen's for a summer management internship. Now I'm just waiting and hoping that some of the companies will call me up to schedule an interview.
